This year, I’ll be climbing 104 stories at One World Trade Center for the Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb NYC! It will be my fifth time taking on this challenge. I’ve been doing this climb every year since 2022, and each time it reminds me why I started. This isn’t just a climb. It’s a tribute.
The Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb honors the heroes of September 11, especially FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller and Captain Billy Burke, who made the ultimate sacrifice to save others. Stephen ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel in full gear toward the Twin Towers, knowing the danger but choosing courage anyway. Captain Burke helped his men and civilians evacuate safely, repeating, “keep going, I’m right behind you,” before losing his life. Their bravery represents the very best of humanity.
Climbing 104 stories isn’t easy. It’s emotional. It’s exhausting. But it’s meant to be. Each step represents the sacrifice, strength, and resilience of those who gave everything — and the families who carry that loss forever.
For me personally, this climb has become more than just an event. It’s something I look forward to every year because it keeps their stories alive. Standing at the top, looking out over the city and down at the reflecting pools where the towers once stood, is something I’ll never take for granted. It reminds me why we remember, why we honor, and why we continue.
I’m climbing again this year to support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation and their mission to help fallen first responder and military families, injured heroes, and those who have sacrificed so much for all of us.
If you’re able, please consider supporting my climb. Every donation helps continue their incredible work and ensures these heroes are never forgotten.
Thank you for your support, and for helping me climb with purpose. 🇺🇸
