Each year since 2015, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has held the Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb NYC at One World Observatory at One World Trade Center in New York City. One thousand participants climb 104 stories, symbolizing strength, hope and the resiliency of the American spirit.
The event celebrates the life and sacrifice of all 9/11 heroes, including FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller and FDNY Captain Billy Burke.
This year I am back for my 5th time doing the climb on June 7th, 2026! Last June I did the climb in 31 min and 27 sec. I felt defeated because I didn’t accomplish my goal of being under 30 minutes. With your support & some training over these next three months I know it’s possible to come back and accomplish my goal. I have seen physical progress within myself of doing this each year, and I am excited to do it again while remembering brave men & women who continue to do good when no one else is looking!
This year the Young Professionals Network is honored to dedicate our participation in the 2026 Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb NYC to the memory of FDNY Battalion Chief Orio Palmer. To learn about Chief Palmer’s story click here.
The NYC Tower Climb is one of my favorite activities Tunnel to Towers has each year. The view from One World Observatory at the top of One World Trade Center is breathtaking. After making the emotional climb, participants explore expansive, panoramic views in every direction from a unique perspective. One of the major highlights, of course, is viewing the two reflecting pools that mark the footprints of where the Twin Towers once stood.Through our participation, we aim to honor Chief Palmer’s life and sacrifice while raising funds to support the Foundation’s promise to provide mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families, families of fallen first responders, and catastrophically injured service members.
Thank you for your continued support of America's Heroes. If you would like to participate in any of the events that Tunnel To Towers has throughout the year, or if you know someone that would like to join the YPN please let me know! Together we can do good!
